The Senior Basketball "Fab Four."

I thought that, because 12/19/19 was the 353rd day of 2019, a palindromic day of good luck, if you will, that maybe the outcome would be different as the Collingswood Girl's Basketball team traveled to its rival Haddonfield's gym for the opening game of the season.  Alas palindromic karma could not get a win for our team, but I did enjoy being back in the bleachers watching basketball.  It is Alexa's second (of three) senior season so my gratitude tonight is for the senior basketball "Fab Four!"  These four have been playing basketball together for so long.  Rec, Travel, Middle School, High School and this is their last year on the court together.  Shout outs tonight go to Lulu O'Neill (who fights through every injury only to come back stronger), Sam Gurcsik (who promised me a 3-pointer in Pre-Game today and then HIT IT!, Jayana Murray, the fastest player up and down a court that I've ever seen, and, of course, my girl Alexa!  I will miss seeing these girls play together and am grateful for this one last season.

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
