Love Actually

It was a "stay in" night in the Sherr Household on 12/14/19.  And so, on the 348th day of 2019 a Sherr Family tradition was born as we, for the second year in a row, watched Love Actually together.  I know it's a sappy movie, but I like sap, and I like the sentiment through the movie. Especially the opening quote that, although, in 2003, was inspired by the events of 9-11, I feel is relevant in these turbulent times as well: " Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there – fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge – they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around." So, for  being included in a family tradition and for a sentiment that resonates with me, tonight's gratitude is for Love Actually.  All we need is love, right?
