Anna's Solo

After a wonderful church service, complete with a Baptism, on the 342nd day of 2019, we found ourselves in a different church.  No we did not attend two worship services on 12/8/19, St. Andrews was the location of the ChildrenSong Winter Concert.  It was a wonderful performance but, I have to admit, I was biased towards the songs in which Anna was featured.  She had solos in two songs, including leading off a rendition of All I Want for Christmas (is You).   And she played the flute accompanying another song.  I remember when she first joined this group and she was nervous about stepping out to be featured.  Now, after her experiences in ChildrenSong, the Middle School plays at Collingswood, and the CHS Choir program, I see a young performer with confidence and her talent is shining.  I am so proud tonight, and filled with gratitude for Anna's Solo, and all of the teachers, mentors, and choir-mates that have supported Anna along the way.

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
