Our Softball Family

So, there I was, sitting in a familiar place on the evening of the 294th day of 2019.  10/21/19 was the last game of the Merchantville Mustang Fall Ball Softball season that we can attend (we are over scheduled next Monday night).  I could not help getting nostalgic.  It's been a fun season and our next season (Spring 2020) will be the last for Alexa.  Sheesh, I think I have been watching her play softball for 14 years.  I am sure there will be time for more nostalgia in the Spring, so tonight, I will just show my gratitude for our softball family.  They are awesome!

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
