The YES Vote!

It was the culmination of months of work on the 267th day of 2019.  On 9/24/19, the citizens of Oaklyn headed to the polls to vote on the School Bond Referendum to provide our K-5 town school with a new HVAC System (Warm), a Security Vestibule (Safe), and new Windows to prevent mold and leaking (Dry) as well as a new roof (more Dry!)  I have worked for the past few months with OEF and the PTA and the people in favor of the "Warm, Safe, and Dry" Referendum.  And today, the vote was positive with a 4::1 margin.  So, my gratitude flows for the YES VOTE.  And for the people of Oaklyn who overwhelmingly supported the kids and teachers of the town..... this is so good for the school, for the town, for us all.  WAHOO!

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
