Baseball Moments

I know that I spend way too much time and energy on being a sports fan.  But, on the 227th day of 2019, I remembered why.  I turned the Phillies game off multiple times on 8/15/19.  They were frustrating me to no end, and I could always swap over to the Eagles game.  But the Eagles ended, and Sarah tuned in to the Phillies game even though I told her I was not going to watch. But then, in the top of the 9th, the hits started squibbing in here and there and then Bryce Harper was up with the bases loaded and the Phillies down by 2 runs......it is the exact reason the Phillies signed him to a $330 million contract.  And he CAME THROUGH!  What a moment!  I am grateful for baseball moments such as this and, strangely enough, will be in a better mood for the rest of the night and into tomorrow.  GO PHILLIES!

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
