The 144th day of 2019 was not gross at all (I am sorry, I think I make this joke every year).  I had the day off of work, it was beautiful weather, I got to do errands with Skylar in the van, I got to take lunch to my kids at school, I got to pick up my kids after school, I worked in the snack stand (and got to be playground monitor for about 40 minutes), watched a little baseball, and then we all went to see the 11PM show of Aladdin (I think it's the latest I have ever been in a movie theater, we left at 1:35AM!)  So, on 5/24/19, my gratitude is for this day, May 24, 2019.  A great day, spent with the people I love, doing the things I love to do.  Who can beat that?  Goodnight!

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
