Oreo Churros

At the end of the 97th day of 2019, I found myself at a Little League Board Meeting on the fields of Oaklyn.  We did not have a room in which we could meet, so we met on the bleachers by the Snack Stand on 4/7/19.  And. after we had discussed plans for Opening Day, I went into the stand and fired up my new toy (the Air Fryer) and made the inaugural Oreo Churro!  I think I did OK.  Anna liked the sample and the whole item got the stamp of approval from the board member's son who had suggested we get them (a while ago, this has been a quest).  SO, tonight my gratitude is for Oreo Churros, something new, something to get excited about at the start of a new Little League season.

My caring prayer today goes towards Pastor Michael (again).  I really appreciated his sermon today and am hoping that he can stay refreshed and recharged as one of the many "busy seasons" of the Church is soon upon us.

And my prayer for someone with whom I disagree is for people who criticize the actions of community volunteers.  Keep in mind, these are not volunteers doing anything bad, they just do not agree with everything being done, but they criticize from afar instead of getting in to the thick of things.

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
