My Snack Stand Village

After work on the 93rd day of 2019, I found myself on a Snack Stand Shopping Excursion with my good friends April, Brian, and Shawn.  This is the annual trip to the warehouse store with these friends is something I actually look forward to each year.  I truly could not start the season without the help of these folks.  My gratitude thusly is for my Snack Stand Village.  I know it will grow as the season continues on but tonight I thank its core!

Today's prayer is a prayer of thanksgiving for my parents who came to visit for the past week.  We don't get to see them much but, when we do, it's really special.

And the prayer for people who disagree with me is a prayer for all of the perpetrators of gun violence in the world.  I really do not like guns, and the people who use guns for crime make me really sad.  I pray for their wisdom and for their peace in seeing a better way.

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
