My Church's Saturday Mission
I started the day off with some of the students from Collingswood H.S. National Honor Society. It was a great way to start Day 96 of the year. We assisted in the serving of breakfast to almost 70 people as well as the distribution of clothing. I am extremely grateful, on 4/6/10, to be part of a congregation that has so many options for serving others. Started the day off right and put a lot of things into perspective.
My caring prayer today is for the youth of Oaklyn, classmates of Alexa since 4 years old! It was a pleasure working with them this morning. I hope they want to come back again.
And I also have a prayer for the gentleman who cursed at us this morning. I know he was frustrated that the clothes distribution was taking a long time but, to take is out on us was unneccessay. I pray for his to find what he is looking for in life and I say a prayer for empathy in the ye2rs to come (and beyon)!
