Coins (and Bills) Dropped

In the AM of the 110th day of 2019, the Oaklyn Little League conducted its Coin Drop.  And on 4/20/2019, coaches and parents gave of their time (remember yesterday's reflection?) and people who drove by gave their coins and bills.  Some even gave a large gift to thank Little League and the Oaklyn Community for their continued support of their family.  SO, today, my gratitude flows for those who gave and the coins (and bills) that were dropped today.

My prayers of thanksgiving and care are for the members of the LVC Dutchmen baseball team.  Was so glad to be able to see my nephew and his team play today.  Wish we could have stayed longer!

And, my final prayer of the Lenten Season for those with whom I disagree is not for a specific group of people.  It's for the discourse in this country and a prayer for a better focus on facts and truth than the current focus on lies and spin.  We can and should do better!  Thanks for reading the extra entries this season.  I will continue to pray, as I always have, but I just will not catalog them daily.

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
