Climate Scientists

On the 112th day of 2019, I stayed home from work because I was pretty sick this AM.  Started to feel better in the evening but, in the last few minutes, have started to feel feverish, so I will stop catching up on the work I missed and get to bed ASAP!  4/22/19 is also Earth Day, so I will focus my gratitude on that rather than the ordinary (and not great, but not horrible) occurrences of the day.  Today, I thought a lot about the scientists working on one of the most important issues in the WORLD.  Climate Science.  Amidst deniers (especially those currently in charge in DC at the moment), they are persevering and doing their best to educate us all on what we need to know.  On Earth Day, I hope that people come to their senses, as I hope that the policies change back towards the good side soon, and I am grateful for the Climate Scientists who refuse to give up until they do.

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
