A Night at Home

So I am really tired here on the evening of the 95th day of 2019.  Mainly related to last night's late night.  And, this evening of 4/5/19, we are sitting at home, as a family, and catching up on old DVRed TV.  That that is what I am grateful for tonight: A Night at Home.

Today's prayer goes to my daughters (I know, again?, you say).  While they both played well in their softball games, what I also observed and truly appreciated is how they are great teammates and leaders on their teams.  To me, that is more important than a good game performance on the field.

Today's disagreement prayer is for the fans of the opposing team today.  They were upset because CHS won 15-0 and scored 9 runs in the 1st inning.  I pray for their solace, I know it's not fun being on the wrong end of a mercy rule score, believe me, CHS has been on the wrong end of their share of these.  But they do not need to be mad, just remember they beat us by 10+ rules TWICE last year.  So, I pray for reconciliation.

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
