Spring is Here!

On the 79th day of the year, it started to get a little warmer.  What does this mean, on 3/20/19 (when, by the way, I am 50.05 - palindrome!)?  It means that SPRING IS HERE!  And that is the subject of my gratitude today, that Spring is Here.  Now, it's gonna pour tomorrow, but April (and late March) Showers will bring May flowers!

My caring prayer today is for my old colleagues at the School of Nursing.  I got to see them this morning and it reminded me of the family feeling I experienced while working there.  It was nice to feel a little of it again this morning.

And for those with whom I disagree, I pray today for people who hide behind their keyboard online and say hateful and offensive things that they would never say to someone's face.  These people and their tactics can turn social media into a harmful and hateful place.  I, on my corner of the Interwebs, try to be positive and true to myself.  Would that others could do the same!

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
