Penn Women's Basketball

At the end of the 81st day of 2019, I was in my "happy place."  The Palestra, the Cathedral of Basketball ("College Basketball's MOST HISTORIC Gym!")  And, on 3/22/19, I was present to watch the Penn Women's Basketball Team defeat the Eagles of American for a win in the 1st round of the Women's NIT.  I was with friends, knowledgeable basketball fans.  I enjoyed hearing the Band, in full throat, spirit, and musicality.  And I am grateful for the Penn Women's Basketball Team.  Tied a program record with their 24th win of the season.  Showed balanced scoring, tenacious defense, and resolve.  I wish them the best of luck as they travel to Providence for the second round.

My caring prayer tonight goes out to the players on the Quaker Women's Team (and all of the basketball players in the postseason tournaments).  The spotlight is on them, the academics don't stop, and the travel is stressful and tiring.  My prayer is for their strength and perseverance on the court and in the academic arena as well.

My prayer for someone with whom I disagree is for the Ohio State Basketball Team (yes, we have a basketball theme tonight).  As a Penn State fan (and secondary Michigan), I am not supposed to like Ohio State.  But they, as an underdog, won tonight.  Prayer of congratulations!
