Numbers

So today is 3/13/19.  3/13 - a nice date, a nice palindrome.  It's also the 72nd day of 2019.  72 - 3^2*2^3, another palindrome.  I love palindromes, I love numbers.  My gratitude today is for numbers.  Because numbers bring me joy, even if they will also bring me scorn for being a geek.

Today's loving, caring prayer is for friends who drop of Rib Eye bones for my dog after enjoying their steak dinner.  Basically, I love people who think of other people all of the time.

And, today's prayer for someone with whom I have a disagreement is for my wife and kids.  Because I am grumpy tonight (I need to get more sleep).  And I broke my Lenten "giving up" and was angry a bit tonight.  And now I am sorry so I send them prayers of reconciliation and for forgiveness.  And tomorrow, I will have to give up something extra since I failed at giving up being angry today (and I was doing so well).  It is actually not that big of a deal, but the little things do mean something.  Goodnight!

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
