Friends with Cheesesteaks

It's no secret that I like to make friendly wagers with my friends.  We do not bet anything significant and it is rarely for money.  It's more for some kind of food that we can enjoy together (guaranteeing that, no matter if I win or lose, I will have a good time, with good food, with the friend with which the bet has been made.  On the 60th day of 2019, after a nerve-wracking Penn Women's Basketball win, I finally paid off a wager lost in July 2016.  And, although he had to wait until 3/1/2019 to be paid off, I enjoyed a nice time with my friend, his son, another friend, and a bunch of cheesesteaks.  So, tonight, my gratitude is for friends with cheesesteaks...... and a hope that I win the next wager!

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
