Dear Friends and Family

On the 89th day of 2019, my wife and friends threw a party for me.  We celebrated my 50th on 3/30/19 with family, food, fun, friends, and it was Fantastic!  I am so grateful for my dear friends and family and for the love they showed today.  Fifty was truly nifty today!  :-)

My prayer today is a prayer of thanks for the members of Alexa's Mustangs Softball Team.  I have been lucky to be able to join the coaching staff as the bench coach this season (after assisting in the final round of the playoffs last year).  The kids are both great players and great people.

My prayer for someone who disagrees with me is for Jessie Biddle.  Not because I really disagree with him, but because he gave up a monster home run to Bryce Harper today.  Jessie is a Philadelphia area kid, playing at GFS.  And he was drafted by his hometown team, and then traded.  Now, with Atlanta, he had to pitch against his hometown team.  I hope that he is not too upset with the outcome, but I was happy to see Bryce hit the long fly!

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
