Saturdays

Saturdays are my favorite days of the week.  They are usually more relaxing that the other days of the week.  It's not that they are not filled with activities, they are, but it just seems like things are easier when the stress of the weekdays are left behind (and are not returning the next day).  the 40th day of 2019 was one of these wonderful Saturdays.  Slept in, went swimming at the gym, got the dry cleaning picked up, the kids babysat, Sarah and I went to the Women's Basketball game (PENN WIN!), Alexa had dinner with friends, Sarah and I had a post-game date dinner.....2/9/19 was a really nice day.  And, for that, I am grateful for today, and for Saturdays that are equally amazing.

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
