Nice People Who Find Things

On the way to lunch on the 56th day of 2019, I seemed to have dropped my PennCard.  Not sure when or how, but I did not have it at the end of lunch and I DID have it when I left the office on 2/25/19.  So, I returned to the office, frustrated at myself and not looking forward to paying $30 for a new ID.  But, GUESS WHAT?  I sat down, opened up my email, and there was a message from the PennCard Center saying someone had found my ID and turned it in.  So, I scooted over the Bookstore, up to the PennCard Center, and got my ID back.  And, SO, my gratitude today is for Nice People Who Find Things, specifically the person who found my ID and turned it in today.  No idea who it was, but THANK YOU!

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
