My DAD!


The number 51 is pretty cool.  3 x 17, two of my favorite numbers.  So it's not a surprise that the 51st day of the year is also a day where I think about a pretty cool person all day!  See, 2/20/19 is the birthday of David M. Sherr, that's right, MY DAD!  The picture provided says all you need to know about the father he was for me and my sister.  He's smiling, he's relaxed, he's got us both in his warm embrace, and we are both quite happy to be with him.  My dad truly is one of the most caring, loyal, honorable men I have ever known.  And he has been a shining example for me on how to treat others and how to work hard, while still having fun, in everything one does.  But, the most important gift I think he has imparted upon me is showing me how important a Dad can be in a child's life and that has been my mantra and model in my own fatherhood.  So, Dad, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, and here's to many, many more.  So glad you are coming to visit next month and I hope you are enjoying your paradise island vacation! <3

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
