Hymns that Move me

If you read many (or, last year, any) of my daily posts, you know that I love music.  The 48th day of 2019 is a Sunday so, on 2/17/19, I found myself in a familiar place: the pews of Old First Reformed UCC.  And, as we do most Sundays, we sang a lot of hymns.  Music is one of the things I like most about Church, it's what introduced me to services (playing in Easter Brass) and it provides me with a lot of joy in each service.  But sometimes, while singing, I am moved.  It could be a tear, it could be goosebumps, or it could just be that feeling.  The feeling that something is happening and I may not understand it.  I guess that is why the core of most religious beliefs is FAITH.  This morning, we sang How Great Thou Art, an "old chestnut," if you will.  And I loved singing it, hearing it, and the feeling I got experiencing it.  It was a great way to start my day.  So, tonight, my gratitude is for hymns that move me.  Because feeling good about music is never out of season.  I provide a version of the hymn (albeit more contemporary and less "churchy" and it's from a holiday special!)  But it'll have to do.  YouTube beggars can't be choosy!  Goodnight!
