PTA Book Fair

I was not at work on the 31st day of 2019.  I took 1/31/19 off of work so I could work at the PTA Book Fair at Oaklyn Public School (where my daughters used to attend).  When I was a member of the Oaklyn PTA, I used to love volunteering at this event and helping the kids check out (purchase) their books.  So, since it makes me happy, I decided to continue to volunteer here even with my kids out of OPS.  I am grateful that I was able to take the day off, that the Oaklyn PTA allowed me to sign up for shifts today, AND that I get to go back tomorrow.  Happy Kids, Books, Education - what else do we need in life?

Being a Father

6/16/2019 is Father's Day.  And I spent the 166th day of 2019 doing things with my family.  Church, clothes shopping (I did need new (and smaller, thank goodness) clothes), naps, Disney Movies on TV, a GREAT dinner (mmmm lasagna by Sarah), and then more catching up on TV with the family.  I am so blessed that, on 4/2/2002, I was made a father.  Being a father has pretty much defined me since that day.  I am so grateful for being a father, as well as being thankful for those who have advised me and taught me and have helped me become a better father.  This, of course, includes my fathers and grandfathers, who have been shining examples to me, but also for all of those other people in my life who have been models and mentors, my mom, other relatives, my wife, friends, etc.  So, to all who have been in my life in regard to my parenting, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!  (and thank you!)

More Numbers

Today, 11/24/19, is Day #328 of 2019.  As with most Sundays, after Church, I counted, with my counter colleagues, the offering that was collected.  So, on day 328, the Loose Offering was $27 and the total cash was $273.  I know it might sound geeky, but this is where my gratitude lies today.  I love that these are more numbers to make me happy.  And I am glad that a simple set of numbers can start my day off in a good manner.
